When you breathe better, you feel better. When you move better, you feel better. When you're rested, you feel better. I can teach you how to use the tools of yoga to help you get back to doing what you love to do with ease, whether it's crochet, running, or being able to keep getting in and out of your favourite chair.
I took my first yoga class in 1991 - nothing fancy, just 7 or 8 of us with our mats. I will always remember waking up to the sound of a bell after falling asleep in final relaxation. At that point in my busy school schedule, what I really needed was to recover, and yoga provided me with the perfect tool.
In 2011, I took a 200-hour teacher training course in Rishikesh, India with World Conscious Yoga Family (now Akhanda Yoga Institute). I've taught seniors yoga, restorative yoga and yoga nidra since early 2011, and I've been so inspired by the people in my classes. I enjoy helping people find movement in their bodies and finding modifications that work to maintain ease.
I love seeing groups of strangers become friends as the weeks go on in yoga class, and I'm so happy to be able to provide a space for people to meet others, move their bodies, and recover from the demands of daily life.
Since my initial training, I've completed an additional 300 hours of teacher training, along with trainings specific to restorative yoga, yoga nidra, pranayama, meditation, and EFT. I'm currently enrolled in an 800-hour Yoga Therapy Certification course. I've practiced Reiki since 2010, and became a Reiki Master in 2019.
I help you find your inner North Star of awareness that you can use to guide you along your path. Along with yoga, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques, or tapping), and Reiki are other tools I can offer you in your healing journey.
I love meeting new people and learning new skills, and I look forward to helping you find ease and comfort in movement and stillness.
